  • The Aware 5 GPS airspace warning system developed by Airbox in association with NATS is a GPS moving map device created with pilot safety in mind. Its roots stem from a desire to help pilot avoid controlled airspace.

Airspace infringements are an increasing problem worldwide, they are normally the result of either a loss of situational awareness or from a lack of knowledge about changes to airspace restrictions. The Aware 5 aims to solve both these problems by offering an affordable moving map with a definitive free airspace warning database updated in accordance with the AIRAC cycle. The Aware 5 is very simple to use and needs just a single page of instructions.

    Alerts include:

    • Controlled Airspace (Control Zones, Control Areas and Airways)
    • Aerodrome Traffic Zones
    • Danger Areas and Prohibited Areas
    • Restricted Airspace (temporary, such as air shows etc.)
    • Transponder Mandatory Zones
    • MATZ, ATZ, GVS, PSL, HIRTA

Note: all airspace warning updates are provided free of charge and are available every month in accordance with the AIRAC cycle.

Airbox Aware 5 Product features and technical data:
